Goran fährt Taxi in Berlin.
Grammar from this story
Verbzweitstellung (verb in position 2)
In a German main clause, the conjugated verb is always the second part of the sentence. The first part can be the subject, a time, a place, or an object. If something other than the subject comes first, the subject moves right after the verb.
position 1 (subject / time / place / object) + verb + (subject) + rest
From the story
- Um sieben Uhr kommt der erste Gast, ein Mann im Anzug.
- Trinkgeld gibt er nicht.
- Am Abend putzt Goran das Taxi.
Common mistake
Putting the subject before the verb when the sentence starts with a time phrase.

Akkusativ (accusative case)
The Akkusativ marks the direct object: the person or thing the action is done to. Only masculine words change: der → den, ein → einen, kein → keinen. Feminine, neuter, and plural stay the same. Many verbs need it, like haben, sehen, kaufen, and brauchen.
masculine: der → den, ein → einen · die / das / eine / ein stay the same
